Autumn wedding in Amsterdam at Posthornkerk
When I first saw you
With your smile so tender
My heart was captured,
My soul surrendered
I’d spend a lifetime
Waiting for the right time
Now that your near
The time is here at last.

Every shoot is special to me. I get the privilege of being an important part of my client’s special day, and it’s a privilege I cherish and look forward every time.
One memorable event I had the honor of being a part of took place earlier this year. Two of my very good friends, Jelger and his girlfriend Suus, had hired me for a “loveshoot”. Unbeknownst to Suus and myself, the whole thing was designed by Jelger as a way to ask her to marry him. I was just as shocked as Suus, and I found it impossible to hold my enthusiasm in, but I did my best so I didn’t disrupt their special moment. Maybe this was the reason why Jelger did not tell me upfront as I could have blown the whole thing off by my big smile all day and weird behaviour 🙂 Ten months later, their wedding day rolled around and I had the privilege of capturing their special day—and oh how amazing it was…
Suus and Jelger were born and raised in Amsterdam so they obviously wanted to include their culture and family on their wedding day. And to top it off they had chosen the amazing Posthorn Kerk in the center of Amsterdam. Dinner in church was an amazing experience and after all the wine the way to the party was just some small steps down.
Enjoy for yourself this memorable day.
