Lovely family shoot in Amsterdam

Last Autumn i met Grace and her cute family for a family shoot in Amsterdam. It was one of the first cold autumn days but with cold jackets and taking them on and off during the shoots, it was doable. I suggested to meet up really early in the morning on a Sunday to avoid a lot of tourists in the background. As they had a small baby with them it was not a problem. Young parents know that Sundays are not for sleeping in 🙂

As a wedding photographer I look for moments

We walked through my favorite spot of Amsterdam. The Waterlooplein area. With iconic houses, bridges and small (side) streets. As a wedding photographer, I always look for a nice backdrop, moments and light. During a wedding shoot I never pose my couples. I use the same approach for my family shoots. I want to capture their candid moments. You may think if that is really possible during a short family shoot but that is very well the case.

Amsterdam is perfect for a photo shoot. For a family shoot in Amsterdam all you need are flat shoes and a good dose of fun. The rest will come naturally and I am always happy to give you even some insight on the history of Amsterdam.
